Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover -Review

Synopsis:

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover, a passionate tale of friendship, betrayal, and romance—and the enchanting music that inspires one young woman to put her life back together.

At twenty-two years old, aspiring musician Sydney Blake has a great life: She’s in college, working a steady job, in love with her wonderful boyfriend, Hunter, and rooming with her good friend, Tori. But everything changes when she discovers Hunter cheating on her with Tori—and she is left trying to decide what to do next.

Sydney becomes captivated by her mysterious neighbor, Ridge Lawson. She can’t take her eyes off him or stop listening to the daily guitar playing he does out on his balcony. She can feel the harmony and vibrations in his music. And there’s something about Sydney that Ridge can’t ignore, either: He seems to have finally found his muse. When their inevitable encounter happens, they soon find themselves needing each other in more ways than one…

From the author of the New York Times bestsellers Slammed, Point of Retreat, Hopeless, This Girl, and Losing Hope, Maybe Someday is destined to become another bestseller and long-lasting fan favorite.

My review:

I love Colleen Hoover. I feel in love about 25% into Hopless, and I have been in love ever sense.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review, and I feel totally honored that I was able to preview Maybe Someday...

Maybe Someday is the story of Ridge and Sydney. A story of chance encounters. A story of how true love prevails, and is able to weather the storms of adversity.

Ridge is an amazing man. Morals, values, loyalty. There is nothing I could find to say bad about him. And that is rare. His ability to overcome adversity is admirable. It is unbelievable how he has risen above all that has been thrown at him, and not use his crappy up bringing as an excuse to be a total jerk.

Sydney was a little wishy washy for me at first. A bit needy, but as I got to know her more, I loved her. She had the ability to take life by the horns and come out on top. She ended up being a strong female lead, and her ability to roll with the punches had me jealous. She was able to take every curve ball life threw at her, and turn her lemons into lemonade without missing a beat.

Sydney is lives with her best friend, Tori, and has been dating Hunter for 2 years. One night she hears music coming from the balcony across the court yard from her apartment, and wanders out onto her balcony to listen. As a music major, she appreciates the sweet sounds coming from the guitar of the hot guy across the way. So every night at 8pm, she wanders out onto her balcony to listen to the music as she works on her homework.

Ridge has been making music for as long as he can remember. But, he has writters block. He needs a muse. One night, as he is on his balcony playing his guitar, he notices the girl across the way. In a twist of fate, they begin to forge a friendship.

When Sydney finds herself homeless, Ridge helps her out, and offers her a place to stay. They havent even officially met...but with no where else to go, Sydney takes him up on his offer until she can find her own place.

A friendship is born. And as feelings and lines begin to blur, Ridge and Sydney find themselves in a situation they are not sure they will be able to come out of in one piece.

I loved this story. Ridge is the kind of man every girl hopes for. I wanted to reach inside the book and hug him, and keep him as my very own. Maybe Someday had some plot twists that will blow you away. And in typical Colleen fashion, she has woven a tale that will keep you turning the pages. You are kept wondering right up until the very end. Amazing story of love and the pull between doing the right thing or crossing lines that will hurt all involved.
