Review: Deep Down

Deep Down
Deep Down by Elle Aycart

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Oh how I have missed Elle Aycart's alpha men.... when is the next book due out???

I loved the Bowen brothers, but Mike has given them a good run for their money. Few people can create an Alpha like Elle can. And Mike was all alpha!!! Yum!!!

Deep Down is a story of miscommunication, assumption, and 2nd chances. It's a story of how the grass is not always greener on the other side. And how rash, fear based choices can ruin the dreams you never knew you wanted.

Now, I have to tell you, in the midst of this love story is 3 of the orneriest, craziest little old ladies I think I have ever read about. They are determined to intervene and get Mike back together with his only true love -- Kyra. But through it all their antics were hilarious, and their text messages had me rolling on the floor. They make up the OG --> Origional Grandma's. And they are meddling little old things. And they were hilarious.

Mike is my favorite kind of leading man. Hot, bossy, and controlling. He took what he wanted and made no apologies for it. And when he wants something, look out. Because nothing was going to get in his way. I loved the way he took to Kyra's little girl. Loving her and protecting her as if she was his own flesh and blood. He was a little hot headed, and a lot jealous, and he was fabulous!! Him and Kyra had been together for years. She was all he ever wanted. But she fled to chase her dreams of being a professional dancer, leaving Mike devastated, with a rock wall around his heart.

Kyra, I loved her. She was strong, and determined. She was self sufficient and willing to do what she had to do in order to support herself and her daughter. With her dreams crushed due to choices that were not her own, and coming out of a bad marriage, she moves back to the small town she fled, and as her and Mike's paths begin to cross again with the help of the OG's, Kyra and Mike learn to heal past hurts. And per usual, Ms. Aycart has not disappointed with some rocking sex scenes... *runs and puts head in freezer*

We also get a good bit of drama, as Kyra's ex husband gives her a run for her money. And as his secrets are spilled, and trouble brews, Kyra has to navigate the murky waters.

And we also get a bit of a taste of those fabulous Bowen Brothers. *sigh* Oh how I love James.... anyway, Cole and Max make a few appearances and Max is still searching for his mate...can not wait to see how his story plays out!

Now, whee was I???? Oh yeah....The epilogue leaves it wide open for the next book. Looks like Rachel will get her story. And I can not wait to see how the meddling OG's work this out, or who they have in mind for her. Should be a wild ride for the feisty auto mechanic.

Deep Down is a spin off series from the Bowen Brothers, but you do not have to of read them in order to read it. It references some of the people from the books, but nothing that would leave you confused or guessing.

Love conquers all. All the hurts. All the mistakes. All the time spent apart.
