You know how every once in a while you get a hold of a book that leaves you wondering what you just read?? Yep... this is one of those. Nothing is how it seems, you are kept on your toes, and I read this in one sitting because I was desperate to figure out what was going on. And all my best guesses were blown out of the water because I did not even have an inkling of an idea of how it would end....
I have to be honest and say Iam not even sure how to go about really reviewing this one.
Alexandre is not your normal leading man. He is a therapist..... but he is a sociopath down to the core of his being. His mind is just about as twisted as they come. The ideas that popped into his head were crazy. He was a predator dressed in sheeps clothing oozing charm in a way that would have you naked and in his bed and then left wondering what happened. My mind was left spinning more that once.
There is no real leading lady... Alexandre is into everyone.... literally. And the book revolves around him and all of his conquests.... which lends a very different aspect to the story since you usually have a main leading lady.
This book was so out of the box it left me wondering how in the world the author came up with this stuff... seriously just out there... with an ending you will never see coming!!
This is a standalone book meant for mature readers.
Harper Troy, like most students, was working her way through college barely making it by. She hears about an opening at a well known gentleman’s club, The Guardian, ran by a very well known Chicago Family, the Tarseta’s. Even though the uniform is very revealing and the other waitresses are catty bitches, the money is worth it.
Until she meets the youngest Tarseta, Liam. He’s Chicago’s most eligible bachelor and drop dead gorgeous. She feels an instant attraction. Being a known playboy, Harper fights the attraction and his advances.
Liam has his eyes on Harper the moment he sees her. Being different and not falling for his charms, he is determined to break her down. But Harper refuses to be another notch on his bed post.
Just when Liam is breaking down Harper’s barriers, he learns some shocking news that changes everything. Can he make her see they are meant to be together, or will he lose her forever?
Oh Em Gee.... I LOVED this. I loved this so much I did not want to have to put it down. I was reading in between hair clients and putting people under the dryer to process their color that I do not normally put under the dryer, all because I needed to know what was going to happen next..... yes, that good.
I have loved this series since the 1st book, Craving Constellations. And each book just gets better that the one before it. And Iam seriously hoping that the author has something up her sleeve for another one. And with the way this one ended, she left it wide open for book 4...
Cody-- Oh my... yum!!! We have gotten to see him grow up as the series has gone on. From awkward lanky teenager to full blown alpha man. And when he decides he wants something-- he takes it. I loved the way the author wrote this character. I felt so many emotions as I was reading. And although Cody did not always make the right choices, I was able to identify with his reasoning, even if it was jacked.
Farrah -- not your doormat kind girl. Loved her. She was violently independent and was not about to let some guy boss her around or turn her into someone she did not want to be. Her sheer will to survive after all she had been through growing up is enough to awe you. Her strength of character and deep rooted need to take care of herself, made me instantly like her.
Drama but not to much. Angst in just the right amount. Questions that keep you turning the pages. And a love story that has spanned the years and created a bond that in the end can not be broken. Perfection!!!
Is 6 stars an option???
