Review -- Ride Steady by Kristen Ashley

Ride Steady (Chaos, #3)Ride Steady by Kristen Ashley

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I feel like I got my Kristen Ashley back. Since the last few I have read by her have not made me a gooey happy mess, Iam THRILLED that I stepped back into the KA world I have come to love and expect.

Joker, I loved him. I loved that he was always so serious, and ill tempered. He never showed emotion, he was just plain bad ass. And yet when it came to Carissa, his inner soft heart would come roaring through. And then we got to see the real man beneath the Chaos patch.

Carissa was such a doll baby. She wore her heart on her sleeve. And in the beginning I was afraid we were going to end up with a weak, door mat heroine, she proved me wrong at every turn. A single mom that was willing to go the extra mile for her kid. I loved that she refused to bring Joker in as part of her sons life, until she felt comfortable they were going to go somewhere. She was fiercely protective of her little man, and I loved this about her. I loved that she was unwilling to play the victim, even tho she had experienced enough she could throw the victim card and ride the wave. She wasnt one for handouts and her make the best of the situation attitude was admirable.

Anyone who follows me knows Iam not a fan of insta love. And in a way, people will try and say that this is the case with Joker and Carissa. However, their relationship started way back many years ago in high school. And because of their history and because of the way KA brought their relationship together, what could be placed in the insta love category, doesnt feel like insta love. Their relationship progression had a natural flow, that left you feeling like they were soul mates that had taken a few wrong turns in life, you just know they were meant to be together. It left my heart singing a happy tune.

Bring on the next Chaos book! I cant wait to see where KA goes with this. And Im going to admit, that when the series comes to an end, Iam going to be left heartbroken... bc this is one group of men that I dont want to have to say goodbye to!!!
